At Metagenics, we use a specific form of high-quality magnesium known as magnesium bisglycinate or Meta Mag®. This form of magnesium is bound to the amino acid glycine, which improves its bioavailability and absorption. It is also gentler on the stomach and less likely to cause gastrointestinal upsets. However, some people may still experience loose stools or diarrhea when taking high doses of magnesium. If this happens, try reducing your dose by half, e.g. Instead of taking two serves per day, cut down to one serve.
